Thanks to Mayor Joe’s efforts over the last six years, Indianapolis has seen major progress in ensuring that all young people have the opportunity to pursue the education and training needed to prepare for the jobs of the 21st century.
- Established Indy Achieves, which provides millions in scholarships and grants to low-income students attending Ivy Tech and IUPUI. Since its start, Indy Achieves has supported 3,000 students to continue their education and has expanded the budget to support 200 more scholars.
- Launched Project Indy, a program aimed at engaging at-risk teenagers and providing employment experience, as well as opportunities for soft-skills training, mentorship, and more, over the summer months. Today, Mayor Joe’s Project Indy has employed over 15,000 young people in Indianapolis.
